I’m Adam Twidell, CEO of PrivateFly.com, an ex-RAF and private jet pilot. PrivateFly is a global online booking network which connects private jet customers with charter operators looking to fill their planes. This gives the customer maximum choice and cost-efficiency and the operator an invaluable marketing platform. Private jet travel is one of the last travel sectors that has largely continued to operate offline – so we aim to transform the industry using the same kind of price comparison and efficiency models that customers have come to expect in other parts of the industry.
This is a very exciting time for private aviation, while we wait to see what changes come from the mists of recession. Will pricing have changed to a more transparent model? Will more and more customers migrate to chartering an aircraft versus the more costly fractional ownership models? How are airfields and FBOs shaping up to offer the high levels of service that customers expect? Which new aircraft can we look forward to entering the market?
