Bowled Over At EBACE

It’s not often that I’m pictured with a bowling ball in hand.

But this morning I found myself making a detour to Geneva’s Meyrin bowling centre, after arriving at Geneva airport for EBACE (European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition). The very kind owner Valerie had offered to lend us a couple of bowling balls for a photo opportunity.

The reason? In September we will be running a bowling challenge at another gathering of business aviation community – BGAD (British General Aviation Day) at Cambridge Airport.

While EBACE is on a much larger scale, BGAD is becoming a very popular event with those in the UK industry.

This year the PrivateFly stand at BGAD will be transformed into a British country pub, offering the a chance to catch up with industry contacts over a drink and a very British version of ten pen bowling.

There will be an individual competition and a team challenge – with teams from LEA (London Executive Aviation) and London Oxford Airport already signed up.

Teams can be of any size and competition is expected to be fierce. Sign up for the PrivateFly BGAD Bowling Competition.

Obviously PrivateFly isn’t just at EBACE to talk about bowling. It’s always a key event in the business aviation calendar and a great opportunity to catch up with latest industry happenings, and to meet with partners and operators. Not to mention viewing the incredible static display of aircraft.

Hopefully this will inspire some of the many photographers who come to the show to enter our Private Jet Photography Awards.

This year I’m also involved in the EBACE Program Schedule. I’ll be on the panel for a discussion on Thursday at 9.30am, entitled “Can New IT Tools Apply to Change the Traditional Way of Doing Business (Aviation)?”. We’ll be talking about how online technology is transforming our industry. It should be an interesting debate.
