Customer service – at speed

Obviously the service isn’t yet operational. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) is working on its new guidelines for unmanned aerial vehicles, but Amazon say they will be ready to launch Prime Air when the FAA’s new rules come into place in 2015. Their aim is to have a fleet of Prime Air vehicles in the sky one day.

It’s great to see this example of technology driving improved customer service speed. Especially when its linked to aviation.

While we aren’t planning to offer unmanned flights anytime soon, customer service speed is something we are constantly focussed on at PrivateFly. In any business, improving your reaction time to your customers is a big commercial priority these days. Customer expectations are increasing just as fast as response times are decreasing.

But in private aviation, service speed is absolutely paramount. Time-saving is one of the key reasons people choose to fly by private aviation – it can shave hours off even a short trip. But speed of response when it comes to booking the flight is equally important.

Here are five ways PrivateFly offers the ultimate in high flying customer service:

1) Get airborne in as little as 42 minutes

Our technology allows us to be exceptionally responsive to ‘go now’ private jet flight requests. Our software allows us to target aircraft are already on the ground at the departure airport and to make all the arrangements and online paperwork as quick and seamless as possible. We regularly have passengers airborne in under an hour and our record is 42 minutes from enquiry.

2) Fly on the world’s fastest civilian aircraft, the Citation X

The world’s fastest civilian aircraft is the Citation X, made by Cessna. It it cruises at 0.90 Mach, just under the speed of sound, and is faster than any aircraft operated by airlines. If you want to fly somewhere in a hurry, the mid-sized Citation X is the aircraft of choice.

3) Combine distance & speed with the Gulfstream G650

The Citation X might be the Usain Bolt of civilian aircraft, but if you’re looking to combine a long range with speed, Gulfstream’s G650 is the way to go.

It’s fractionally slower than the Citation X, with a maximum speed of Mach 0.925, but also offers a range of well over 7,000 nm. So it can fly between Dubai and New York, or London to Buenos Aires without a fuel stop. It’s no wonder it’s in such demand. Read my previous blog Flip my jet: Demand outstrips supply for the G650

4) Board your aircraft 60 seconds after arrival at the airport

When it comes to airport choices for clients flying in or out of London, there are several choices – 14 airports in all. Each has its pros and cons (see Inside London’s airports). But one of them puts speed at the heart of its service. London City Airport’s Jet Centre is so efficient that it offers a 60 second departure promise. You can be on your aircraft in just a minute after walking through the arrival door. How’s that for speedy service?

5) Wifi enabled aircraft

PrivateFly offers a large number of wifi enabled aircraft, in our combined global fleet of over 8,000. Having the latest technology onboard enables our clients to keep connected and make valuable use of their travel time in the air.
