Focus on France – our favourite french airports

With it being 14th July and Bastille Day, the PrivateFly office took on a decidedly French feel today, with our French team celebrating their French National Day.

As the most popular market for private jet travel in Europe, France attracts both business and leisure travellers across its many private jet airports.

So, with Entente Cordiale, we asked the PrivateFly French team to tell us what they love about their favourite French airports:

Ani & Geoffrey : ” Paris-Le Bourget is the busiest and best business aviation airport. “

Paris-Le Bourget is the single busiest private jet airport in Europe.

As an airport, it is one of the most important private jet hubs, frequented by international and domestic flights. Situated close to Charles de Gaulle airport, it is also very popular as a connecting airport from international airline flights to private jet transfers.

With eight different FBOs (private jet terminals), Paris Le Bourget offers excellent and varied business services for the private jet customer.

Mehdi : ” Toulouse is the heart of Aviation en France. “

Toulouse-Blagnac airport is just minutes from the centre of Toulouse and offers convenient access to the ski resorts in the Pyrenees as well as to Southern Europe.

With companies such as Airbus based there, Toulouse is recognised as the most important centre for Aviation and Space flights in France and Europe, and a perfect tourism spot for Aviation fans.

It’s also a busy airport in the south of France, especially for those flying to Spain, Portugal and North Africa.

Davide : “Annecy, the closest airport to Switzerland.”

Paris to Geneva is the busiest private jet route in Europe and Switzerland, as host to EBACE (the most important business aviation event in Europe) has an important role to pay in the private jet industry.

Annecy, the closest French airport to Switzerland, offers easy access to the Swiss border (and being Swiss myself, this makes Annecy my favourite French airport).

It’s also a popular airport gateway to some of the most popular and famous ski resorts in the Alps such as Courchevel.

Arthur & Pierre : “Cannes offers both speedy and dedicated VIP service”

Cannes Mandelieu airport is dedicated exclusively to private jet travel, offering a warm and highly personalised welcome.

The service at Cannes is fast and very efficient – allowing seamless transfer times from ground transport to aircraft with impressive coordination.

This is seen at its most impressive during events such as the Cannes Film Festival where the airport is at its busiest.

Julien : “The view on arrival into Calvi is breathtaking”

Corsica is a beautiful island, and the North of the Island is stunning for both its scenery and heritage.

The view on arrival into Calvi is particularly beautiful, with the contrast between the turquoise blue waters and the ancient buildings.

The port of Calvi is also a popular starting point for those wishing to Cruise in the Mediterranean.

Charlotte : “Pointe-à-Pitre is the gateway to the French Caribbean”

Point-a-Pitre airport is the airport for those travelling to and from the beautiful island of Guadeloupe, in the French Caribbean.

With its stunning palm trees, tall white buildings, and surrounded by crystal waters, it’s a beautiful airport of contrasts.

The islands of the French Caribbean are amongst the most popular tourist destinations as a sunny getaway during Europe’s winter season.
