Inflite Stansted is first UK FBO to reach IS-BAH standards

The Inflite Jet Centre team at London Stansted Airport had some good news last month, when they were granted an IS-BAH – the new best practice industry accreditation for ground handling services in business aviation.

Inflite is the first FBO (private jet terminal) in the UK to be recognised. And the third in Europe – after Sky Valet at Cannes Mandelieu Airport and the FBO at Avignon-Provence Airport.

See what it’s like inside Inflite Jet Centre in our video ‘What happens at a private jet airport?’

What is an IS-BAH?

Created last summer, the IS-BAH (The International Standard for Business Aircraft Handlers) is a new set of global best practices for FBOs and ground handlers, focused around quality and risk management – and designed to create a standardised safety framework.

An increasing number of FBOs in the US have already been recognised. The certification will become increasingly important in the years ahead, giving a clear framework to FBOs plus additional confidence for aircraft operators and customers around the ground handling aspects of every flight.

It’s no surprise to us that Inflite should be one of the early recipients of the IS-BAH. They have run a consistently excellent service out of London Stansted for many years, and always look after our clients’ flights extremely well.

Penny Stephens, Director of Inflite commented “As a family-run team, we are exceptionally proud to have this recognition. The IS-BAH is a reflection of the standards that Inflite has always lived by, and we’re delighted to be the first UK FBO to set the international benchmark.”

Of course, there are many other FBOs that are doing an excellent job. They now have the administrative task of documenting and demonstrating this – a big job in itself but a necessary one. Our industry is going through a period of huge change and standardisation is part of this new era of business aviation.

We’re looking forward to seeing who is granted the new certification next in the months ahead.
