An eventful day at London Luton airport
Yesterday I spent the morning at London Luton Airport with a TV news crew. They were filming a segment for a forthcoming report, and PrivateFly is being used a business case study. It will be shown later this week.

I always enjoy showing people around airports and aircraft. When I’m on pilot duties, that’s all part of the job of course. But for PrivateFly it’s more often media or other contacts from outside the industry, some of whom may not have been to a private jet airport before. It’s fantastic to give them an insight into the benefits of private aviation.
Yesterday the whole morning was a delight from start to finish. The TV crew were fantastic and professional; we filmed in and around two stunning Embraer Legacy 650 aircraft – thanks to aircraft operator London Executive Aviation; we were well looked after, as ever, by the team at Signature Flight Support one of Luton’s private jet terminals; and the sun was shining.

It was an eventful day all-round at Luton, with a security alert causing many flights to be cancelled and the main airport to be evacuated. A huge number of passengers were left stranded after 40+ flights were cancelled. Thankfully the suspect package reportedly turned out to be only a set of hair straighteners, which raised alarms as the bag was x-rayed.
