Rescue puppies join the Private Pet Set
At PrivateFly, a growing number of our customers are choosing to fly with us to travel comfortably with their pets – around 4% of our flights have a pet on board. And as animal lovers ourselves, we can never resist the opportunity to meet some of our furry clients.
So we were delighted to team up with North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organisation, for a recent video and photoshoot, featuring some of their adorable puppies.
Flying in a private aircraft can significantly lessen the stress a dog or cat can experience when flying – as they can travel in the cabin with their owner and can often move around, once airborne.
In fact, my own dog Tex comes into the PrivateFly office and often enjoys the private jet lifestyle, helping us review facilities for pets at private jet airports and onboard aircraft. So we thought – why not let other pups enjoy it too?
So we were happy to give some of the puppies at North Shore Animal League America a taste of stress-free aviation, onboard a private jet.
With a few photographers tagging along, we wanted to help demonstrate, not just the value of taking your pet with you everywhere you jet, but also the value of adopting your next pet. After an uncertain start in life, these rescue animals deserve the very best!
Thanks to our friends from Ventura Air FBO at Farmingdale Airport just outside New York City, we had a fantastic day, full of aviation and puppy love. The PrivateFly team and Ventura employees enjoyed lots of cuddles and licks from the energetic pups – while the puppies enjoyed exploring their new terrain.
While a little unsure of the jet (and all the people) at first, the puppies quickly warmed up to the private jet lifestyle and felt right at home onboard the jet. They made themselves comfortable on the leather seats and burrowing into their new PrivateFly blankets.
And the very best part? A fantastic fairytale ending. After the shoot, one of the puppies ended up finding his home with one of the airport volunteers who helped that day. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of others looking for a loving home!
