The ultimate Game of Thrones location trip by private jet

The latest series of Game of Thrones has now reached its end on UK screens, but diehard fans needing a fix can still indulge in our ultimate fantasy trip by private jet around the real Westeros – to some of the show’s most important filming locations.

We can’t yet offer dragons for charter, but we have included estimated prices on three types of aircraft: small, medium and large – something a bit more comfortable to ride on.

In the words of Daenerys: “Shall we begin?”

Northern Ireland

Most of Game of Thrones has been filmed in Northern Ireland, so this is where we begin our journey. Belfast has seen a spike in tourist interest, due to the show. But if you want to see more than just the film studio, there are a number of exterior locations to visit in the area.

Head over to Downhill Strand and Mussenden Temple, the setting for one of the most important scenes this season: Dragonstone.

There’s also Castle Ward, which has been used for many scenes at Winterfell, which has been rightfully put back in control by the Starks – and led by the new King of the North, Jon Snow.

And rounding out the real-life locations to visit in the area, head over to Ballintoy Harbour, the backdrop for the Iron Islands, the location for a game changing leadership switch.

London to Belfast

  • Aircraft: Citation Mustang
  • Estimated charter price: €5,500 (one-way)

Spain

Next we’ll head off to warmer climes, firstly Spain – used for a few locations this season.

There’s the historic city of Girona, which served as the backdrop for the free city of Braavos, the previous location of young Arya Stark.

And of course, you have to see Castillo de Zafra, the castle used as the Tower of Joy in THAT scene – which answered a burning question all Game of Thrones fans have been wondering since the first series.

Belfast to Girona

  • Aircraft: Citation XLS+
  • Estimated charter price: €15,900

Croatia

Finally we fly off to the location for Kings Landing. The beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik has served as the location for many episodes and, like Belfast, has seen an increase in tourism, thanks to being featured in Game of Thrones.

Girona to Dubrovnik

  • Aircraft: Legacy 600
  • Estimated charter price: €24,500
