PrivateFly is UK’s first certified private jet broker
Many links in the supply chain for a private jet flight now have an accreditation system in place, to promote best practice in safety and operational standards.
For aircraft operators, there are the Argus and Wyvern ratings. We find clients are increasingly aware of asking about these, and showing a preference for aircraft which are highly ranked – particularly in the US, but also more and more in Europe.
Then for the FBO, there’s the IS-BAH standard, which promotes safety and best practice in running the ground handling aspects of a private jet flight.
But despite a significant proportion of private charter flights being arranged through a broker or intermediary, until recently this was a key part of the supply chain without an accreditation.
Private charter is a highly fragmented marketplace, with many small companies each operating a relatively small fleet of aircraft – often just one or two. So a good broker can add a huge amount of insight and value to the customer.
As the chair of the EBAA’s charter broker sub-committee and a Council Member of BACA (who are endorsing the new Argus broker rating), I am passionate about raising standards and sharing best practice in private charter – at every stage of the process.
So I welcomed the move by Argus International to introduce a new accreditation for brokers, the Argus Certified Charter Broker Rating. And I’m proud and absolutely delighted that PrivateFly has become of the first brokers to receive it. We were officially presented with the award at EBACE in Geneva today.
We’re the first UK-based company to be certified; the second in Europe; and one of only 7 in total worldwide.
