Europe’s Top 8 private jet hotspots in July
Unlike the USA, which sees a more even year-round demand, Europe’s private aviation industry sees a big summer peak, with business flights boosted by additional demand from leisure travellers – holidaying in summer hotspots; spending time in second homes; or visiting VIP lifestyle and sports events.
July is the biggest month overall, and we’re expecting this July to be our busiest month ever here at PrivateFly.
We looked back at last July to see our most popular flight hotspots. We flew clients to over 100 different European airports in all, including Kastelorizo; Jersey; Athens; Berlin; Luxembourg; Anglesey; Perugia….but the following eight were the most popular, with many of our clients flying in (and out) over the course of the month.
1) Ibiza
A small number of private jets fly in and out of Ibiza during the winter months, but the island’s airport bursts into life between May and September, with July seeing a peak of over 30 private jet landings every day.
In addition to its well-known nightlife, Ibiza’s beaches, luxury hotels and villas draw large numbers of luxury travellers who come to simply relax, eat and enjoy one of the Mediterranean’s most exclusive island destinations.

Whether it’s second homeowners flying down for the summer; exclusive events; a trip Monaco; or simply soaking up the sun in Europe’s most stunning and chic hotspots; there are a myriad of reasons luxury travellers flock to the area.

3) London
London is the busiest city for private jets in Europe, offering a choice of 14 airports for private jet travellers and a combined annual total of around 90,000 private jet movements (a take off or landing).
It’s busy year-round and remains so in July, with business travellers heading to Europe’s leading financial centre; and leisure travellers attracted by London’s rich history and culture.
London Luton is London’s busiest private jet airport, offering 24-hour access and fast transport connections to the city centre. London City is the closest airport to the city centre, but its proximity comes at the cost of higher landing fees.

In July business travel is still very much part of the mix, but Paris also becomes a major summer leisure destination, with luxury travellers from all over the world drawn to its iconic landmarks, rich culture and renowned restaurants.
This year, private jet demand to Paris will be higher than usual in July, due to the final stages of the 2016 UEFA European Championship football.
