EBACE 2010
Quiet confidence seems to be the theme at EBACE 2010 in Geneva at the annual private aviation industry get together. Whilst nobody is shouting about a dramatic recovery from recession, the mood is upbeat and positive amongst Europe’s private jet aircraft operators and brokers.
Despite their continued prominent presence, the one area of the market that remains flat is the manufacturers. Although still here in large numbers with no lack of marketing effort (their exhibition stands are extremely impressive), the sales teams seem to be putting on a brave face with dwindling visitors to their stands very evident. But what option do the likes of Embraer, Cessna, Bombardier and Gulfstream have? To not attend EBACE in force would be a suicidal decision in an industry that is all about emitting utter confidence. Hopefully they can ride through this tough time and focus on the prospect of recovery on the horizon.
