Lufthansa strike today – last minute private jet charter
Our Flight Team and online flight search have been busy this morning, with enquiries from airline passengers in Germany, affected by today’s Lufthansa strike.
The German airline has said that 113,000 passengers will be hit by flight cancellations today, as cabin crew staff continue to strike over retirement benefits.
Flights from a number of German airports, including the major hubs of Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Munich are cancelled today. The strike will run from 03:30 GMT until 22:00 GMT in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf and 23:00 GMT at Munich.
This morning our enquiries include a small group, looking to reach Hanover from Zurich at very short notice. They were connecting at Hanover, to an international long haul flight and desperately didn’t want to miss it.
As our technology is integrated with many aircraft operators’ scheduling software, we can identify aircraft on the ground, ready for private charter at very short notice. We found the group an Embraer Phenom 100, at a total charter cost of £5,500.
