The New Long-Range Champion of Luxury

The Bombardier Global 7000 is here. With an extended range of 7,700 nautical miles, it has officially unseated the Gulfstream G650ER as the long distance champion of luxury private jet travel.

Though not yet available for charter and in its final stages of testing, we expect to see the Global 7000 in rotation later this year.

As the height of luxury long-distance travel, this new range will enable the jet to travel non-stop from New York to Hong Kong or San Francisco to Singapore.

The Global 7000 also steps up in terms of size – it is longer and wider than the G650, which equates to cabin comfort for the (lucky) passengers aboard. In terms of speed, both the Gulfstream G650ER and the Global 7000 can reach cruise speeds of Mach 0.925.

The Global 7000 features four separate spaces (and a separate crew space) that can be converted into a number of configurations, depending on the passenger needs. It can seat up to 19 people.

For luxury travelers and self-proclaimed “AvGeeks,” the arrival of the Global  7000 marks a turning point in long-range private aviation. With the constant race to improve and out-do each other at every turn, it appears as though the Global 7000 will reign supreme – at least for now!

Its anticipated big sister, the Global 8000, has another story to tell; it is reportedly shorter and seats less passengers, but will have an even longer range. It is due to make an appearance in 2019, though for the moment its production and testing is on hold.
