10 Top private jet airports in the USA

There are over 4,000 private jet airports in the USA, and they vary from large international airports with multiple runways, to tiny runways in remote areas – allowing you to get closer to a hard-to-reach destination.

Private jets are able to access many more airports than commercial airlines, due to their bespoke routings; and versatile landing capabilities.

And clients choose to fly by private jet when they need to get somewhere quickly and directly.

This can be particularly useful when flying to or from big cities that have major airport hubs, which can often see delays on the ground and in the air – and require long waiting times at airports (private jet travellers can arrive just a few minutes before take off).

In New York for example, private jets have 11 airports to choose from (not as many as London though, where there are 14. See London’s private jet airports).

PrivateFly’s US office is based in Fort Lauderdale and serves our US-based clients, for flights anywhere across the country.

But which airports do our US clients use more than others? Here are ten of the most popular.

The primary private jet airport for Manhattan and the entire New York City area, Teterboro Airport is located just on the other side of the Hudson River to the city centre. It’s one of the busiest private jet airports in the world and has five FBOs, and 23 hangars.
