Five flights this week: Leisure takes the lead
At this time of year, leisure travel leads the way in the private jet market, particularly in Europe. And many of our clients are using private jet charter to reach holiday destinations, or to travel to summer events.
Here are five leisure flights we’ve arranged recently.
1) Paris to London, for Wimbledon
This tennis-loving client was looking to fly from Paris to London, to attend a match on the opening week of Wimbledon.
Time was of the essence in this case, and they wanted to fly in and out on the same day. So we recommended a flight into London RAF Northolt, the closest private jet airport to Centre Court at 14km away.

2) Southampton to Cannes, for a 40th birthday
The south of France is hugely popular with private jet travellers in the summer months.
This particular flight was for two couples, based in Hampshire. They were heading for Cannes, to attend a 40th birthday party and then to stay on for a long weekend on the Cote d’Azur.
They chose a Citation CJ2 small jet and we flew them from nearby Southampton, rather than from a London airport, for the shortest ground transfer time at each end.

3) San Francisco to Las Vegas, for a bachelor party
Las Vegas is one of our most popular US destinations for both business and leisure flights and like many others, this group was travelling to a bachelor party.
With a group of ten people and a very special occasion to celebrate, a Gulfstream GIV was the perfect choice. And it was more cost-effective than they expected, working out at $1,900 per person for the return flight.

4) London to Deauville, for a day at the races
Deauville in Northern France attracts visitors from all over Europe in the summer months, to the premier horseracing events at its Hippodrome Deauville-La Touques racetrack.
This customer was travelling to and from South London with some corporate clients, in a group of five. We recommended a Citation XLS medium jet – popular, cost-effective and very comfortable.

5) Geneva to Newquay, for a wedding
This client and his wife were travelling to Cornwall, for a family wedding. They hadn’t used private aviation before but were on a tight schedule, looking to arrive early in the morning and fly back that evening, something that wasn’t possible with commercial airline or train travel.
We recommended an Embraer Phenom 100 aircraft. Cost-effective and comfortable for short flights, with the benefit of an enclosed private lavatory onboard.
