Hangar8’s acquisition of International JetClub

Interesting to read today that the one of Europe’s largest aircraft management companies, Hangar8, has taken over Farnborough-based International JetClub. Both have limited ad hoc charter capacity, having focussed on longer-term management contracts for aircraft owners.
This is particularly topical news: Next week I am on the panel at the Operator Consolidation Conference in London. We’ll be discussing the impact of mergers and acquisitions between private jet charter operators. What does this mean for the industry – and for the private jet customer?
In my view it’s further evidence that it is currently a buyer’s market in private jet charter. There’s a shifting landscape of aircraft operators, and they must offer the best rates to stay competitive. All good news for the private jet customer, providing they shop around of course.
