Heathrow closes runways as busiest private jet weekend takes-off
This morning both runways at Heathrow Airport, London were closed due to an emergency landing by a British Airways plane.
Today marks the start of one of the busiest weekends for private jet charter in Europe as Cannes Film Festival, Champions League, Monaco Grand Prix and the Roland Garros French Open combine with a British Bank Holiday and school half term. We’re already speaking to people who were booked on scheduled flights from Heathrow over the next few days, looking for an alternative flight, as their original flight has been cancelled or delayed. So it look like the busiest weekend for private jet flights could get even busier.
Both of Heathrow’s runways have now re-opened, but many scheduled flights have been delayed or cancelled.
Alternative private jet airports to Heathrow include London’s Biggin Hill, RAF Northolt Airport, Farnborough Airport and London Luton Airport.
