Houston prepares for Super Bowl private jet influx
The Super Bowl Final is the busiest global event for private jet demand, with hundreds of additional private jet flights seen each year, to airports close to the venue. This year that’s the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, where the New England Patriots will be up against the Atlanta Falcons.
Last year, there were over 1500 additional private flights in the San Jose area for Super Bowl 50. And its predicted that even more will be making their way to the final this year.
Booking conditions for private jets to Super Bowl LI
Although you can usually hire a private jet to fly at very short notice (58% of our customers book and fly within the same week), when flying to or from a major event such as the Super Bowl, it’s important to plan ahead.
Houston has a wider choice of local airports than San Jose, so the demand will be spread across more airports. But with such a major influx of private jets, airports will be operating to a tight schedule of take-off and landing slot times, and slot availability will be limited.

Aircraft parking at each of the local airports will also be hard to come by, with many aircraft having to position in and out, rather than being able to remain on the ground.
Advance reservations will be required for arrivals and departures from Thursday 2nd February to Monday 6th February, at all 21 airports in the Houston area.
When you book with PrivateFly, we work with the FBOs to secure your reservation arrival and departure times – however these are at a first-come, first-serve basis so we advise clients to plan ahead, and not to change plans once a reservation is made.
