Our team’s travel resolutions for 2019

For many of us, January is a time to make travel plans for the coming year. And at PrivateFly – passionate as we are about all things travel and aviation – this is most definitely a hot watercooler topic!

We asked some of our newest team members to share their travel resolutions for 2019.

Eliot Essombe – Trip Manager

Eliot Essombe

Trip Manager Eliot is planning to travel to Vietnam this year.

Eliot says: This year I will travel in South Korea to visit some of my friends and I also planned to do some solo backpacking in Vietnam. I really hope to be able to visit both South Korea and Vietnam depending on the season. Closer to home, having recently relocated to join PrivateFly’s UK-based team, I’m enjoying the opportunity to discover London!

Louise Bean – Business Development Executive

Louise Bean

Louise from our Business Development team is heading to Lake Como.

Louise says: My plan is to explore more of Europe after years of long haul flying in my previous airline career. On my list will be Santorini and the Italian Lakes. I have fond memories of Lake Como due to my close friends getting married in Villa del Balbianello.

I have always been a huge fan of what Italy has to offer – The fine wine, spectacular food and beautiful scenery is the perfect recipe for a relaxing break!

Get there by private jet? The closest private airport to the Italian Lakes is Milan Linate. Prices from London start from £7,200 for an overnight return in a 4-seater Citation Mustang.

Zach Henderson – Flight Advisor

Zach Henderson

Flight Advisor Zach is planning a trip to see his grandmother in Sweden.

Zach says: First up is a trip to southern California to visit family later this month. After that I am working on plans to travel to Sweden to see my elderly grandmother in March.

Finally I’m planning a 5-day trip to the Florida Keys with a few good friends this summer to fish and scuba dive.

Get there by private jet? If you’re heading to Sweden like Zach, we’d recommend Stockholm Bromma Airport as the closest to the city centre. (It is also the only private jet lounge we know of with a grand piano and a resident parrot!).

Jack McGowan – Head of Business Development

Jack McGowan

Head of Business Development Jack is taking on a charity challenge in Loch Ness.

Jack says: My partner and I are travelling to South Korea and Japan in May this year – I have never been to Asia before so really excited to tick off the final continent on my list. Over two weeks we hope to check out the birthplace of Gangnam Style, cycle around Buddhist Temples and castles, ride a bullet train, butcher some karaoke songs and climb Fuji.

Then in July this year I will be swimming the full 36km length of Loch Ness for local St Albans charity ASPIRE.

Get there by private jet? The closest private airport to Loch Ness is Inverness Dalcross, which is also well-situated for exploring the Scottish Highlands.

George Bannister – Flight Advisor

George Bannister

George from our Flight Team is looking forward to travelling to the Canary Islands this summer.

George says: As a trained pilot and having travelled throughout Asia and Australia a few years ago, I’ve long since had the bug to explore. However I will be looking closer to home in 2019 and eagerly awaiting a trip to the Canary Islands in the Summer to mark the first trip abroad for myself and my girlfriend.

Get there by private jet? At PrivateFly, the most popular of the Canary Islands with our customers is Tenerife. But we also fly into others including Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura.
