Five food festivals by private jet

Food and luxury travel are a match made in foodie heaven. What could be better than enjoying gastronomic delights, in beautiful destinations around the world?

Many of our leisure clients choose their destination with memorable dining experiences in mind, but it’s not all about Michelin-starred restaurants. A growing number choose to fly by private jet charter to food festivals, in search of local cuisine at its best – and to seek out some of the newest eating and drinking trends.

There’s (literally) a world of food festivals out there to choose from. But here are just five of our clients’ favourites which are annual events, and well worth making the centrepiece of a memorable trip.

South Beach Wine & Food Festival – February

In February each year, the South Beach Wine & Food Festival takes over Miami Beach and indeed most of South Florida. From the tasting tents on the beach to the exclusive private dinners held around the city, it’s certainly a big-ticket event for foodies (the warm South Florida winter weather doesn’t hurt either!).

Charter a private jet from New York City’s Teterboro Airport to nearby Miami Opa-Locka Airport to get from the runway to the boardwalk in style.

New York City to Miami

Aircraft: Embraer Phenom 300 (7 seats)

Price: $32,000 (round trip)

Aspen Food & Wine Festival – June

Aspen is a popular winter destination with our ski-loving clients, but during each June we also see travellers excited to fly into Colorado by private jet for another reason. Their culinary mission? To enjoy tastings, demonstrations and panel discussions featuring award-winning chefs, diverse restaurants, and world-renowned sommeliers.

Charter a private jet from LA’s exclusive private jet airport, Van Nuys Airport, to Aspen-Pitkin County Airport in the heart of Aspen.

Los Angeles to Aspen

Aircraft: Pilatus PC-12 (6 seats)

Price: $15,000 (one way)

Pizzafest in Naples in September

Every evening during September, the Lungomare Caracciolo area in the Italian city of Naples becomes a pizza-lover’s paradise.

Visitors flock from around the world to enjoy some of the finest pizza from its fabled birthplace, served up by the best pizzerias and chefs.

Jet into Naples International Airport for the closest gateway to pizza heaven:

London to Naples

Aircraft: Citation XLS (8 seats)

Price: £15,900 (one way)

Salon du Chocolat in Paris – October & November

If chocolate is more your thing, don’t miss the Salon du Chocolat, held in the city each autumn – which gives a taste of the finest cocoa-inspired trends.

The largest showcase of chocolate from every continent in the world, the program includes giant chocolate sculptures, an avant-garde chocolate fashion show, and demonstrations from top chocolatiers and pastry chefs.

Fly into Paris’s dedicated private jet airport, Paris Le Bourget, for the smoothest arrival into Salon du Chocolat.

Milan to Paris

Aircraft: Cessna Citation Mustang (4 seats)

Price: €6,000 (one way)

Barbados Food & Rum Fest – October

Barbados has many reasons to attract private jet travellers, but food is firmly in the spotlight each year in October – when both local and international high-profile chefs and mixologists get involved in four days of gourmet events.

The island’s famous rum is obviously a key focus, and the event includes rum tours as well as an exhibition polo match.

Barbados (Bridgetown Grantley Adams) International is located on the south coast of the island. There is also a heliport in Bridgetown, for those looking to try island hopping by helicopter.

Fort Lauderdale to Barbados

Aircraft: Citation Bravo (7 seats)

Price: $25,000 (one way)
