Proud to support a rising star of British motorsport
Speed, agility and performance are always at the top of our priority list here at PrivateFly. And we’re a big supporter of young talent. So we couldn’t be more delighted to be sponsoring one of British motorsport’s youngest rising stars, Olli Caldwell.
14-year-old Olli is about to start his first season as the youngest ever Formula 4 racing driver – with his race debut taking place this weekend. He’s widely-perceived to have great promise for a future motorsport career, ultimately aiming to become a F1 driver.
A globally-recognised step between karting and F3, the F4 British Championship has established itself as the place for young drivers from around the globe to start their campaign towards a F1 career. Olli combines his racing ambitions with studying for his GCSEs, and is the youngest member of the multi-formula Arden International racing team.
He is joining the TRS Arden Junior Team at Round 5 of the championship, having waited to turn the minimum qualifying age of 15. His first race this Sunday (11th June) is in fact his 15th birthday! And it will take place at Croft Circuit, North Yorkshire.
Rising stars of the track & the skies
We marked the start of our sponsorship by pairing Olli and his single seat Mygale-Ford Formula 4 car, with a Pilatus PC-12, for a photo shoot at London Biggin Hill Airport.
Like Olli, the Pilatus PC-12 is currently on an exciting upward trajectory. With regulation changes earlier this year opening up the commercial potential for single-engine turboprops in Europe, it has the potential to become a major private charter success story over the next few years.
And London Biggin Hill felt a particularly appropriate location, as the rising star in London’s private jet airport scene. Growing faster than its rivals, the airport recently announced extended opening hours and a £15M development plan.
It was fantastic to see these rising stars of the track and skies, side-by-side. We’re proud that Olli will be sporting our new PrivateFly brandmark on his car and race suit, and we’re looking forward to supporting him this Sunday, and throughout the season.
