The Falcon 8X lands in the charter market

Six months after the first delivery of the Falcon 8X, we’re pleased to say that this newest of Dassault’s ultra long range jets is now available for charter, via the PrivateFly network.

This has been widely-anticipated and we’ve had a number of customers already asking when they can charter the 8X, and how much it will cost.

Now that the first aircraft has entered the charter market, we’re able to offer this fantastic aircraft. But what makes it so special?

An upgrade to the successful Falcon 7X

The Falcon 8X is the upgrade to Dassault’s successful Falcon 7X, which already offers excellent technical performance within the long range jet category. You can see inside the 7X in our exclusive video tour.

Like the 7X and the Falcon 900, the Falcon 8X is a tri-jet, giving it superior agility for its size and making it capable of landing on smaller runways than other larger aircraft, such as London City Airport or St Moritz.

The aircraft has a maximum range of 6450 nautical miles (500 further than the 7X), which allows it to fly for over 12 hours non-stop, connecting Paris to Hong Kong, or Los Angeles to Beijing.

This puts it ahead of most other long range jets and neck-and-neck with rival Gulfstream’s G650. Some customers will be swayed by the 8X’s additional engine – a major feelgood safety factor for passengers flying longer distance over the sea.

When you step inside, its spacious cabin is a great selling point too, with room for 14 passengers on board, and two bathrooms. There is luggage capacity for up to 16 bags and the convertible seats can be transformed into 5 to 6 flat beds.

How much does it cost to charter a Falcon 8X?

Naturally the price of any private flight depends on the itinerary. Given its long range capability, the Falcon 8X is particularly suitable for longer flights but it can also be chartered for shorter trips – for larger groups or just for those who want the experience of travelling in one of the newest private jets available.

Its rarity and desirability will initially command a bit of a price premium, with a one-way flight from Paris to New York estimated at €130,000 (compared to around €113,000 for a Falcon 7X and around the same as a Gulfstream G650). But as the number of Falcon 8Xs increase in the market, the price will fall.
